Conquest has lodged plans with the NSW Housing Delivery Authority for a $900 million mixed-use precinct on the former Cyprus Club site in Stanmore, in Sydney's inner west.

The proposal for the 1ha site includes around 500 one, two and three-bedroom apartments above a retail podium with a full-line supermarket, specialty stores and wellness facilities, along with ground-level gardens, play areas and outdoor communal space.

Conquest CEO and Founder Michael Akkawi described the site as one of Sydney's most central and culturally rich locations, and said the private sector has a role to play in tackling the city's housing shortage.
